Altered Dress Form #7 {Queen Bee}

This is the last of the dress forms I swapped with my Yahoo group and I believe it turned out to be my favorite. I love this vintage image, and the paper from Pink Paislee (the Queen Bee collection) is some of my favorite. It was hard for this paper hoarder to cut into, but I’m so glad I did! The wings image is of actual insect wings that I found on the web and printed on a transparency. I immediately embossed them with clear embossing powder as soon as the transparency came off the printer and before the ink had a chance to dry completely. They really look like I just plucked them off a wasp! I added a little black paint to the bee and the hive to tone down the gold a bit. And isn’t it cool that the hive fit the top of the dress form exactly? This was a fun project — more time consuming than making ATCs, but I’m glad I played along in this one!

  1. very, VERY cool Jan! How in the world could you bring yourself to part with these! When you come visit this Summer, will you bring what you got in return?
